Serious Game from Ranj

Houthoff Buruma The Game is a game built for recruitment purposes in the legal sector.
The premise is a fictional take-over deal of a Dutch family company by a Chinese state owned enterprise. The players work for Houthoff Buruma, the legal representatives of this Chinese company. They have 90 minutes to convince enough shareholders of the target company to sell their shares and to come up with solutions to hidden problems. In this time they will be confronted with video & text chats, films, mails, news, websites, social media and more.

Augmented Architecture in Rotterdam

Totally Geek: find the journalist with a fake identity

In 2009, Wired magazine writer Evan Ratliff decided to disappear. For one month, he left behind his identity, home, and friends, setting out to develop an entirely new life somewhere in America. Wired challenged anyone to find him – for a $5000 prize – prompting thousands of people to dig into his life and track his location. What happened next may change the way you think about privacy, social media, interactive journalism and identity in the digital age.

An interesting locative game demo from a Dutch student

Walk the Line is a locative game that uses the players' location for game-play purposes. The goal is to get the ball from one point on a map to another in a straight line. Points will be awarded when the ball sticks as close to the line as possible. On the other hand, penalties will be given when the ball leaves the invisible line! The players can track their progress and position via GPS based technology (Phones / PDA's etc).

This straight line will be drawn over a city map, colliding with buildings, sports fields, restricted areas and other challenges. The players need to find creative solutions to these challenges and will also face all sorts of mini-games throughout their adventure. The team with the most points wins the game!
